Join Our Club
We welcome applications from new members or associate members. If you are unsure if hillwalking is for you why not just give it a go. You can join us on 3 walks for free before committing to membership - just turn up outside Eldon's Bar, Dillon Street, Clonmel at 11:00 on most Sundays during the season (Sept-June - see 'Walks'=>'Meets List'). If you wish to avail of these introductory walks, you must contact the walk leader to let them know you are coming. The contact numbers are also on the ‘Meets List' accessed via the 'Walks’ page of our website (see tap above).
The basic requirements for your first few days out with us would be a sense of adventure, suitable footwear, raincoat, food and water. There's a good deal of information on the ‘Safety On The Hills’ page, under ‘Guidelines For Hillwalkers’. Anyway, as you progress with your walking you will learn more about clothing and equipment from the more experienced members of the group.
So why join?
● We offer a variety of walks with experienced leaders
● All you have to do is turn up and walk. The planning and organisation is done by the club
● Locally we have incredible mountain ranges but we also stray into other parts of Ireland and even further afield
● It’s a great way to get fit while socialising
● You receive a quarterly ‘Mountain Log’ magazine from Mountaineering Ireland
● You get a 10% discount from several hill walking shops/retailers
● Explore the remote countryside and capture the images
